NightCry | Official Teaser
Project Scissors is now officially "NightCry", according to a new teaser trailer for Japanese studio Nude Maker's upcoming Clock Tower successor. The video is directed by Takashi Shimizu, the filmmaker behind Ju-On and its American remake, The Grudge.
Over the course of the video's 30 seconds, it depicts several fragmented scenes, including one of a child tormented by a ghostly being wielding scissors, the trademark weapon of the Clock Tower series' villain.
Its story unfolds aboard a luxury cruise liner, tasking the player character with solving a series of mysterious murders that leaves the boat stranded in the middle of the ocean.
Another notable talent on the NightCry team is the original Silent Hill art director Masahiro Ito, who will serve as creature designer.
NightCry's video description mentions an "old evil ris[ing]." Whether that implies a new version of the infamous Scissorman character is up for debate, but it sure looks like him in the trailer.
