You play as Alan Goldberg, a flailing screenwriter whose glory days passed by and now he's writing slasher flicks for a low-tier production company. When he's not bemoaning the "slum" of B-movies, he's turning into an amateur detective when his prestigious producer pal offs himself and leaves behind only the clue about a Flying Saucer Pictures company that's mysteriously vanished. But he has plenty of time to complain about television, fanzines, his almost-girlfriend, and his actually friendly slasher movie producer.
Dazzlingly detailed background art, lots of movie references, and a protagonist who gets the riffing he so absolutely deserves.
