Having completly missed the 8-Bit consoles back in the day, I recently checked out shmups on the Sega Master System and was surprised at the quality so I thought I'd check out it's rival at the time, the NES. Again, I'm super impressed with these games! There are lots of shmups to choose from it's extensive library, I decided to check out the ones I'm familar with like Gradius, Defender, Galaga etc. all great 8-Bit arcade ports! So, here's 15 top shoot 'em ups I found on the Nintendo Entertainment System....
