32Nintendo has officially unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, introducing several hardware enhancements over its predecessor. The console features a larger 8-inch LCD screen, an increase from the original Switch's 6.2-inch display, providing gamers with a more immersive handheld experience.
In terms of design, the Switch 2 is approximately 14% larger than the original, accommodating the bigger screen and offering a more comfortable grip.
The Joy-Con controllers have been redesigned to attach magnetically, replacing the previous rail system, and simplifying their attachment and detachment. The console now includes a U-shaped kickstand, providing enhanced stability during tabletop gaming sessions.
Under the hood, the Switch 2 is powered by a custom Nvidia Tegra T239 system-on-chip, featuring an octa-core ARM Cortex-A78C CPU and a 12 SM Ampere GPU. This configuration supports advanced features like Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology and ray tracing, enabling higher frame rates and improved visual fidelity.
For connectivity, the console offers two USB-C ports, one on the top and another on the bottom, allowing for more versatile accessory support and charging options.
