Alucard confronts and questions Richter about his role to Dracula's Castle in the Castle Keep. Richter explains that with Dracula gone, his role as a Belmont is now over, however if he could revive Dracula, their battle could last for an eternity.

Disappointed in Richter's answer, Alucard battles Richter to the death. After defeating Richter, the once hero again dwells over his newfound useless role before passing away. After the castle crumbles, Alucard reflects on how Ricther, like Dracula, decided to take on a life of warfare instead of peace.

Alucard permanently bids farewell to the land of his birth promising never to set foot on it again.
