Now You're Caving With Portals - Minecraft Speed Challange
I take on an unusual speed challenge in Minecraft that you are welcome to compete against and record! I am not allowed to physically attack hostile mobs by punching them, shooting them or hitting them with anything, my only defense is an unlimited supply of NETHER PORTAL BLOCKS which can be used to banish mobs to hell. The portal blocks are also my only method of lighting, using torches is not allowed!
In the time limit of 30 minutes I have to earn as many points as possibly by silk-touching ores. Different ores are worth different points (see below). Before I start the 30 minute timer I use these give commands. You can type these by pressing / on your keyboard
/give @p minecraft:portal 64
/give @p minecraft:diamond_pickaxe
/enchant YOURNAME 33
The first command gives you a stack of portal blocks, use this as often as you like. The second gives you a diamond pick and the third enchants it with silk-touch for you. Make sure you are holding the pick in your hand when you enchant it.
Death or entering the nether through one of your portal blocks means game over and a score of 0.
At the end of the 30 minutes you add up the number of points you have, only ore blocks count.
Redstone Ore Block = 1 Point
Lapis-Lazuli Ore Block = 1 Point
Gold Ore Block = 3 Points
Diamond Ore Block = 5 Points
Emerald Ore Block = 7 Points
These points are based on the ABBA Caving rules invented by VintageBeef: https://www.youtube.com/user/VintageBeef
Feel free to try the challenge yourself, if you upload it to YouTube you can leave it as a video response to this video!
