Jun 13 16.00 ACC Gold Coast Titans v North Queensland Cowboys. 7.50pm Thursday. Cbus Super Stadium The Titans spent the week drowning in self pity after another implosion when they blew a 20 point lead to lose to the Broncos. Now they face North Queensland in the Origin lead up without their captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui. who has been their absolute standout in 2022. But the Cowboys will be without their Origin contingent of Jeremiah Nanai. Reuben Cotter and Valentine Holmes. which punches a hole in their capabilities. Depth has been good for the Cowboys though and they still have plenty of punch. so go in favourites. But surely the Titans can stumble over the line at some stage to halt their plummet down the ladder. Gold Coast by 6. Phil Lutton Penrith Panthers v Canterbury Bulldogs. 7.55pm Friday. Bluebet Stadium The might of Penrith’s famed football factory takes centre stage with their second stringers coming in to replace six absent Origin stars… and the home side are still at near unbackable odds with the bookies. Jake Trbojevic. Api Koroisau. Jason Taumalolo and Joey Manu.Credit:Getty It’s hard to argue too. given Api Koroisau and Dylan Edwards are still on hand to steer a pack boasting James Fisher Harris. Viliame Kikau and Moses Leota. The Bulldogs have shown signs of improvement thus far under Mick Potter but won’t be upsetting the Panthers unless they sort out their sluggish starts. Luke Thompson’s footwork at the line has the potential to do damage while Matt Burton’s kicking radar has hopefully been recalibrated after going badly astray last weekend. Panthers by 10. Dan Walsh Manly Sea Eagles v New Zealand Warriors. 7.35pm Saturday. 4 Pines Park Jake Trbojevic will skipper Manly in what is sure to be a big game after being left out of the NSW Origin side. Trbojevic is not one to try and prove a point or kick stones about missing out on rep honours. but he will need little motivation to inspire the Sea Eagles without two of their best players. including his little brother Tom and Daly Cherry Evans. The returning Martin Taupau will add some grunt. with Jason Saab also back. while Josh Schuster gets a crack at his preferred No. 6 position. This move alone will be worth watching the clash despite the uninspiring opposition. Manly by 14 Christian Nicolussi Canberra Raiders v Sydney Roosters. 4.05pm Sunday. GIO Stadium The State of Origin drain hits hard in the nation’s capital with the Raiders missing Jack Wighton and Josh Papali’i to go with the Roosters’ interstate contingent of James Tedesco. Daniel Tupou and Lindsay Collins. Matt Frawley will slip into Wighton’s No.6 jumper. while the big change for...
