If you must know the ending: your AI assistant sacrifices themselves to help you find the final number without ever knowing if you were successful in defeating the numbers or not for a sad ending. However, a memorial is held for them in the bonus credits stage, and upon replaying the game, the player realizes that the student has become the master, with the player knowing how the events will unfold while the AI has no idea due to them being a fresh install of the original program. This gives many things they say throughout the game a dual meaning to hopefully give people the feeling that they should not waste their limited time together fighting over petty things.
