ObamaCare and Capitalist Contradiction
237When we look at the debate on ObamaCare, we see two sections of the capitalist class in contradiction.
Bit of a mistake to correct: Our healthcare system in Canada is universal, but it is not nationalized. the provincial governments do not necessarily own all the hospitals and clinics, etc. Nor are all clinics and hospitals non-profit.
What we have in Canada is basically that the government pays for the majority of healthcare expenditures (excluding things like dentistry, plastic surgery and many prescriptions drugs). Whether or not the institutions tha receive the money are government owned and controlled is a different matter (although there are of course strong regulations).
