Being a vampire in vanilla Oblivion just isn't worth it at all. You get a few minor stat increases and a two very low level powers that you can only cast once per day which are totally useless above level 10 but also a huge weakness to the punishing sun which burns you until you're dead. Which would've been cool if Bethesda had put more effort into the immersion of having pros and cons that feel in balance between "do I want to be a vampire or do I want to cure myself"

Now Nekhanimal's Awesome Vampire does something like that and more. It takes the same approach to Morrowind's leveling system as vampirism with this mod severely punishes you even more than in vanilla Oblivion which truly is saying a lot at your first rank of Vampire Fledgling. But also very slowly rewards you as you get stronger with each feeding with higher ranks of vampirism with powers that are fun and make the endurance of the curse worth it in the end. Eventually you are a force to be reckoned with as a Nighlord Vampire able to forgo feeding for at least 48 hours without progressing to the next stage of vampirism. And really awesome powers like turning into a bat creature and even able to fly.
