Octopath Traveler 2 #1 - Partitio Chapter 1 [Part 1]
I'm playing Octopath Traveler 2! Set in a whole new region from the original game, get to know eight new adventurers as they travel across the continent.
I have learn a lot recording Genshin Impact in a Windows machine, so I think it's time to try out a proper series recorded on a PC. I'm still learning how to do it as a go, but essentially I am able to record the screen and game audio at what I believe is full quality. For these two first videos, I have recorded the audio separately, which means I have to edit the mic audio into the video.
After recording the two first videos, I have found out a way to record both game audio and mic audio at the same time. This is incredibly important, since it means I can immediately upload the recording to YouTube from the Windows machine. What I have been doing for videos recorded in the PC is that I have to transfer the video file onto my Apple laptop. There, I'd remove the audio from the video file, combine that game audio file with my mic audio, the put the final audio file back into the video file. This is not as simple as it seems, since I need to do an audio sync and adjust audio volumes (game audio -10db, mic audio -0db). Finally, I'd upload to YouTube.
This process takes a decent amount of time and there is lots of room for things to go wrong. Transferring the file from PC to flash drive to laptop takes a long time since the flash drive I'm using is small and doesn't encode things very fast. I also don't always have access to the PC, so it's hard to always get the files out. Figuring out how to sync the audio takes a bit of trial and error work since I'm doing it on QuickTime Player. When combining the audio in GarageBand, I might forget to adjust the volumes of one of the audio files, which may result in the video having imbalanced audio. When adding the final audio into the video, I might forget to strip the original audio from the video. This would result in video not detecting the added audio (You can't simply add another audio file into a video that already has audio in QuickTime Player, as it will not detect the second audio file even though it plays with both audio files on QuickTime Player). Throughout this whole editing process, the quality of the video may diminish too (for example, leaving a 60fps video to only 30fps). Finally, I might upload the wrong video file onto YouTube.
Hopefully I'll be able to record these videos better in the future to where I can straight upload after recording. If I can, I think I can get ahead in this series and have a large backlog of videos that will constantly be pumped out.
Also, I suppose I should link thumbnail assets in the description since that is what I did in my last Octopath Traveler series.
