This was a project for the book the school had to read Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, which I really enjoyed reading. I think that it was a great choice and I think more people should read this book

this was the artists statement

My project is a series of renders done in the open source software Blender. The music used is N.Y. Rush by The Seatbelts. The renders show Marcellus in scenes referencing the book or just something I found funny. The model of the octopus was found on the website Turbosquid and was made by user omrfrkcndn54. For the camera movements I recorded a video on my phone and used motion tracking to copy the movements into Blender. Flat scenes were done in Premiere pro with images found online. Most textures and props were from the Poliigon asset library, except for the vending machine which was found on the website Sketchfab and was made by user RasenDan. Each shot took a few hours to build the scene, and even more hours to render. The font used is Jokerman, which comes installed by default with windows. I chose this font because it’s funny and doesn’t look good, but isn’t so bad that it hurts to look at.
