Oculus just launched Air Link for the Quest 2 which allows you to play PC VR games without having to use a cable. As a huge racing simulator fan and Sim Racer, I decided to try out Air Link with three of the best VR racing simulators. Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2, and Dirt Rally 2 to see how well it works and if indeed this marks the end of the tethered VR headset.


Good
- Cable Free VR
- Amazing Visual quality considering its going over wifi
- Almost un-noticeable latency
- Easy to set up
- Launches right away and easy to load into
- Acts like the link cable
- Good options to set quality & good auto options

Bad
- Quality will depend on your router and wifi solution
- Can sometimes lag out
- Can sometimes get stutter / Frame drops
- Slightly blurred image even on higher settings
- Adds a small amount of additional processing overhead to your PC
- HMD audio can sometimes be a pain with some games ( just use headphones on pc instead)
