While developer version of Oculus Rift have been available for some time, the VR headset is still not quite ready for the end user. However, when the Rift finally gets its big launch, the cost should range from $200 to $400.

"We want to stay in that $200-$400 price range," Oculus VR co-founder Nate Mitchell told Eurogamer in a recent interview.

"That could slide in either direction depending on scale, pre-orders, the components we end up using, business negotiations..."

The consumer version should be a considerable upgrade from the dev kits. According to company co-founder Palmer Luckey, the resolution will increase and the refresh rate will be bumped to 90Hz or more.

Sadly. there's still no official word on when the consumer version will hit the market.
