Finding a way through a maze of doors, finding and freeing the Kategida clan, and giving Oéngus new purpose. It's good to see his clan is grateful to him for letting Aurora know they needed their freedom.... :-/

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, published by Ubisoft, and released between 29 April 2014 and 1 May 2014 (different platforms were released on different dates), Child of Light is a platforming role-playing video game where you play Aurora, a child stolen from her home around Easter in 1895. Features include controlling Aurora with the keyboard while controlling her firefly friend with a mouse, Final Fantasy-similar combat, and exploration similar at times to games such as Limbo.
This Let's Play was done on the PC. Controls are W,A,S, and D to move Aurora; I remapped "dash" to be Left Shift, although I've noticed no increase in speed. W also jumps when there is nothing to climb up. If you approach an enemy from behind, you can get a surprise attack before the battle even begins. Aurora and her enemies have a timing slider: when one gets to the right end, their action is executed. For longer skills, this can thus mean that a hit by an enemy may interrupt a combatant, making them (Aurora or her enemies) lose their action. Small, mini-puzzles along the way increase the variety of the game. The art style is somewhat cartoonish, like something out of a children's book, and all dialogue is in rhyme to increase the feel of the story as a nursery rhyme or a fairy tale.
In her quest to return, discovers soon that a lot may be required. Can we bring back the sun, the moon and the stars and defeat the Queen of the Night? Let's Play Child of Light and see!
