Of Kings and Men | Sword and Board and Doing Archery In This Early Access Ass Kicker! | Gameplay
26We're looking at the gameplay and combat of a just released early access medieval battle simulator, Of Kings and Men, which even at it's current state is quite a fun game! Picking up a sword and shield and taking a turn at a little archery, we wade into battle against other players which creates a giant orgy of sword swinging, club flailing, arrow plinking fun.
The game has future goals of adding sieges, diplomacy, army building, trading, and already has a bit of a weapon and armor progression system as well as a character progression system involving gaining experience and the like. Right now the battles are of decent size, but it seems the Epic battles will be coming out in a few days, and I'm really looking forward to that!
Two handed weapons obviously seem like fun, given their sheer reach, but I wanted to try something more tanky, so that's why I'm checking out the sword and shield. I'm not much of a FPS guy, but I also just wanted to see how the bow mechanics work, so that's why we gave that a shot, although it's obviously better to focus on one weapon to move down the progression tree.
