Planet Nomads | Alpha Gameplay First Look! An Upcoming Procedurally Generated Survival Space Game!
34Today we're checking out the first look, part 1, of the alpha gameplay of an uncoming procedurally generated survival, crafting, sandbox style space game called Planet Nomads. Planet Nomads JUST came out into Closed Alpha today, August 25, 2016, and the developers over at Craneballs were gracious enough to allow me the opportunity to step into the game and check it out!
Something to note, right now this is an alpha, meaning this is even before Early Access, as such this is something of a tech demo showcasing the building mechanics, a bit of the planet seed I started on, some of the tools, some of the planet destruction, etc. Right now the only mode is creative mode, but it appears the survival mode will be incoming sometime around the first quarter of 2017. What creative mode means is that we have unlimited health and materials, and we can effectively build whatever we want from the given blocks and structures, of which there are already quite a few to use.
There's a great deal of customization in the vehicle building, including determining what gets power, how much power it gets, in what direction the wheels turn, whether or not they have steering, etc, and the planet itself does look vibrant and beautiful. I'll be looking forward into getting more into the building aspect, and I REALLY can't wait for the upcoming survival portion. Let me know what you folks think of the look of Planet Nomads so far!

Description
Planet Nomads is a sandbox game of survival through building. As a lone scientist crash-landing on a beautiful, but unforgiving alien planet, your wit and craftiness will determine your fate in the upcoming days.
