Big fan of Banjo Kazooie, and so am looking forward to Yooka-Laylee! After finding out about Tooka-Laydee (a tribute game by Owlstice Games), and completing it a couple times, I wanted to do an amatuer speedrun of it. Speedruns of Banjo-Kazooie are incredible, which makes me curious to see how Yooka-Laylee will go.

Because there are no existing speedruns for this, I didn't know what would entitle as a completion of the game, so I made up some rules:
o Collect all 7 Pages
o Learn all 3 moves from the Red Snake Guy
o (Collect 20+40+20+30 Coins)
o Capture all 5 Creatures
- Read Big Book, and play as Tumble Dryer
o Collect all 7 Pages as Tumble Dryer
o Read Big Book

There are 117 Coins in total. To buy Flutter, you'll need 20. To buy Roll, you'll need 40 + Page. To buy Tongue, you'll need 20. Additionally, to get your Page back, and initiate the Big Book, you'll need 30. So really, you only need to collect 110 Coins to progress successfully.

If you also Capture all 5 Creatures, the credits will finish and start a second game, playable as a Tumble Dryer which you can also collect Pages and Coins. Once all 7 Pages are collected, you can read the Big Book again to get the final credits. I'm not sure if the Tumble Dryer should have been included, but it did complete the game, and gave incentive to Capture the 5 Creatures.

I started and ended the time when the player started interaction, and when the final button was pushed to complete the game. And so, time starts when you press 'Space' to begin playing, and time ends when you push 'Space' to enter the final credits.

I had completed the game a couple times beforehand, and decided to go for it. I didn't really make an extensive route or strategy, and so this is really just me playing it quickly. I had spare time and wanted to do this for fun, and clearly it can be done quicker. I'll get around to smashing that time soon. Hope you enjoy it.
