Ollie King Attract Mode
18Another great on the Chihiro platform, Ollie King is the latest in Sega's skateboarding genre. Ollie King is different from its predecessors in that it is more a racing game than anything else. It even supports link play.
As for the racing, performing tricks gives you a speed boost and allows you to pass the other racers. There are varying degrees of difficulty of the tricks, with the more challenging ones giving the most speed boost.
Interestingly, Sega used a different board mechanism for Ollie King. Unlike Top Skater and Air Trix, the board in Ollie King is fixed in place, with no swing action on the tail. Thus, the other two games will not work properly in an Ollie King cab. This is unfortunate, since Air Trix would swap directly in, with no custom wiring required.
Anyway, this cab is shown running Ollie King on compact flash. This was a custom conversion as Sega never offered this game on CF due to low demand. I would guess there are less than 5 Ollie King cabs in the world running a CF setup.
