Sony's announcement that it was ending support for the PlayStation Stores on PS3, Vita and PSP has re-ignited a discussion about game preservation and archiving; what we can do to help preserve all these works of art from many decades of game development history, and what the industry should be doing.

As always, people bring up the value of physical media over digital, but I don't believe that is the solution, since physical media has a lifespan of its own, and is certainly not going to help with *preservation*.

So, in this video, I discuss what actually needs to happen to preserve games and how we each can do our bit, considering the games industry has no interest in it.
