On This Day In Horror: April 12, 1985 Cat's Eye was released. Against the director's wishes, the studio cut out a prologue that explained the cat's motivations. They considered it "too silly". As a result, many viewers were confused by the connection between the three stories.
In "The Ledge", Cressner flips through a magazine on the coffee table. That magazine is the July 1976 issue of "Penthouse", which featured the short story the segment was based on.

The Police song "Every Breath You Take" is heard in a few places. Since the original version was too expensive for this low-budget production, a cover version was used. The first Stephen King film to receive a PG-13 rating.
