On this day in HORROR October 18 1985 Re-Animator was released. When David Gale's wife first saw the infamous "giving head" scene, she stormed out shouting "David, how could you?!" This has been confirmed by Stuart Gordon. Re-Animator is one of my most favourite films!


The special effects department went through twenty-four gallons of fake blood during the shoot, Naulin said that Re-Animator was the bloodiest film he had ever worked on. In the past, he had never used more than two gallons of blood on a film.
