Once Alive is a game the developer worked on over the course of 3 years after leaving his job abroad. Initially, it was a game where the characters were yellow cones, and the talking characters didn’t have moving mouths or bodies. However, over the course of 3 years, the characters transformed into shadows, and thanks to motion capture support, they now behave more human-like, resulting in a game that is much better both visually and in terms of character design.

In the silence of a post-apocalyptic world, two brothers struggle to survive, believing that humanity has perished until a few faint signs in the distance whisper of another settlement. While the older brother, Jim, argues that this uncertain journey filled with dangers is meaningless, his little brother clings to this glimmer of hope and leaves home. Faced with the burden of losing his brother, Jim must embark on a journey not only to find him but also to uncover the truths hidden in this mysterious settlement. Along the way, Jim grapples with past regrets and the uncertainty of the future, ultimately writing his own story.
