Hello everyone! This week will be full of upcoming games demos because of the Steam Next Fest, and here we have Velaster. For many people, one of the most anticipated upcoming 2D Soulslike, and the developers gave us a lot of content to check it out, including many different areas and 5 bosses... Yes, 5 bosses in a demo again.

The combat feels good (and slow-paced, which is the point I think) and the platform seems overcomplicated at first, but you can get the touch of it pretty early. I still think they could have done it easier for the player, starting for being able to move sideways while hanging.
The major issues with this game are, first, the optimization... Yes, the game looks good, but it shouldn't take that much to load, it shouldn't drop fps that often and it shouldn't be using 90-100% of the GPU while playing in medium graphics (with a GTX 2060). I think there are way too many unnecesary details in enemies/terrain.
Also, there are too many bugs and glitches that you can find in the demo. Enemies disappearing, enemies who would just stop moving, EVEN BOSSES (which was pretty sad), the moment where the map started to disappear, being able to cross a door without the key that I needed, not being able to move or getting stuck in the middle of a skill. There was also a glitch when climbing a ladder (it would teleport me to the bottom) that I didn't add in the video. Maybe is it related to the graphic card being overloaded? I don't know. I still enjoyed to play this, but hopefully the developers can look into that and will be more careful when working further into the game.
