ONE PIECE BURNING BLOOD - REVIEW
One Piece Burning Blood takes place during the Paramount War, you take control of various characters throughout this event, you can play as many characters, the roster is quite huge, in addition to the support characters which buff up your character. The story includes 4 episodes and show each character's prespective during the Paramount War, the first episode felt very well done and fresh, a well done prologue to what seems to be shaping up as an amazing arcade story mode, the remaining episodes however, are the same as the first in most part, you take control of other characters during the chapter 1 events and play through fights you've already seen, now only from a different prespective, i loved the set-up for the story, but it got reptitive at episode 2 and when I fought on the same stage by episode 4, i felt really bored in terms of the visuals, 95% of the story takes place in the same stage, only 1 fight being in a different one, i only wish the game included a wider variety of events, instead of the same event from different prespective.
What about the gameplay? it feels great, you can pull-off nice combos and the intense and visually beautiful attacks are well done, sometimes the character does get a delay time after the enemy finishes attacking, so you can't respond with a counter attack by simply attacking after the enemy, the gameplay requires skill and is not very simple to master, so you might want to hit the training room before going online!
Overall the game is quite a decent package, the large roster of characters adds a lot of value to the game, trying them all out is fun, finding your favourite is addictive and interesting, i only wish the story was better made, it felt reptitive and non-progressive after the events of the first chapter.
7/10
+ Large Roster
+ Variety of Modes
+ Skill-based Gameplay
