Oni 2: Death and Taxes is the second part of the cult and much-loved Oni game developed by Bungie (Bungie West) and released by Gathering of Developers in 2001, which has not reached release. My opinion about what I saw: I've spent a lot of time in my life on Bungie's Oni, playing it at different ages. At the second part of this game, the original atmosphere has disappeared. Playing part 2, I rather feel that I have turned on some completely different game.

Death and Taxes is too focused on fantasies about the future. Playing Oni 1, you feel like you are in 2050 year or so, and playing Part 2, you feel like you are in 2300+. I'm talking about the fact that in part 1 we already smell the future, but we are still in the present, and Oni 2 is a concrete future with all the aesthetics that follow from it and so on. Meanwhile, what is seen in DaT is difficult to imagine in real life, while what is seen in part 1 feels much more realistic and possible irl (although it is also a vivid fiction).

And I want to conclude with the fact that the new Konoko model looks very lame. She looks like an androgynous, not like a woman (I have nothing against androgynes, but Konoko's canonical gender is still female). In addition, the costume style chosen by Angel Studios does not fit at all into Konoko's wardrobe, which we observe in part 1.
