Oops… I Just Bought Two New Stenback Basses
1,300Yep… I didn’t just buy one… I bought 2 new basses!
Admittedly, partly this is because I’m useless, and just love basses WAY too much, lol… (but I guess you’re with me on that one, right?)
But also, because I just love the guy who makes these, his philosophy about tone, and the fact that he’s almost uncontactable… no website, no email… he’s like the bass making version of the Scarlet Pimpernel ;)
I met Tom (let’s call him bass pimpernel) when I was on a “bass boys day out” with Paul Turner and Laurence Cottle, and we were lucky enough to meet Tom and try out one of his instruments…
For me, that was the beginning of a conversion that’s lasted almost 3 years… and after a LOT of emails back and forth, Tom flew over from Finland and delivered these 2 amazing instruments.
There’s pretty much no info on YouTube about his basses, hence why I wanted to make this video as he’s got some really great philosophies about tone, what specifically makes a difference, and what doesn’t - if you’re into bass, this is gonna tick all your bass geekery check boxes ;)
