Welcome to our YouTube video featuring a comprehensive deck building guide for the OP03 Portgas D. Ace Deck in the One Piece Card Game! In this video, we will delve into the key components of building a successful Fire Fist Ace Deck and provide you with valuable insights and strategies.
To begin, we will break down the deck into two main categories: staples and techs/toolbox cards. The staples comprise approximately 30-32 cards and include essential components that form the foundation of the deck. Additionally, we recommend including 7-8 events in the staple section, with 6-8 additional events where 4 of them are cards with counters. Furthermore, allocate 10-12 bodies, with 6-8 of them being 2k power for a non-striker build.
We will provide a sample breakdown of the deck to give you a better understanding of its composition. This breakdown includes 18 events, with 11 of them coming from the tech pool. Additionally, there are 10 2k bodies, with 6 of them sourced from the pool and 4 being Otama cards. Lastly, there are 3 big swingers represented by Ace cards, while the remaining cards consist of staples. Remember, you can adjust the number of events based on your playstyle, but this breakdown serves as an excellent starting point.
When it comes to overall deck building, we offer some valuable considerations. Evaluate your curves, focusing on the number of playable cards on your 4 Don!! turn and other critical turns in the game. Assess the value of each card, ensuring that higher-cost cards offer unique advantages over lower-cost alternatives. Consider the effectiveness of cards like Round Table, which can minimize opponents' power levels. Additionally, analyze the meta and identify cards that can help against multiple matchups.
Moving on to the staple cards, we recommend including a higher number of 2k power cards, preferably 8-12. Specifically, we suggest playing 4 Otama cards as they synergize well with the control and destruction abilities of the Red cards in the deck. Additionally, Ace serves as a significant body, benefiting from the Whitebeard Pirates type, providing rush and facilitating easy board cleaning by swinging over characters.
Other staple cards to consider are Izou, who can search swingers and tech cards, and Buggy, who enables event card searchability, enhancing the deck's flexibility. The 5-drop Marco card ensures no event becomes dead as long as he remains on the field, expanding the range of events you can play. The 4-drop Marco acts as a valuable blocker when at 2 life, allowing for combo plays with Whitebeard cards. Flame Emperor, exclusive to the Ace Leader, offers exceptional removal capabilities and grants a double attack swing.
Whitebeard Pirates, an event card for Marco, is searchable using Buggy, enabling you to push for Izou or dig for specific cards as needed. These staple cards form the backbone of your deck, ensuring a solid foundation for strategic gameplay.
With approximately 30-32 staple cards, you will have room for around 20 additional cards to customize your deck further. Consider adding other 2k power cards based on your preferred ratios, and feel free to experiment with additional solid cards that encourage innovation in the deck.
