A Declaration:
Welcome to the Gameological Dig, a channel devoted to playing games with obtuse and interesting stories. The aim of this channel is to treat these game worlds like an archeological site, meant to be unearthed and studied, so that we may better understand their plots, characters and themes.
Episode Notes:
You may notice the video quality fluctuates. It's cuz I used footage from both my elgato AND the PS4 Pro’s video capture (which is only 720p for some reason).
This is the final part one of a three-part video essay. In this episode, I discuss how AC Origins draws inspiration from the Witcher 3, but ultimately misinterprets what made CDPR's magnum opus so incredible. Origins is not a bad game; it's actually pretty good, but it doesn't do enough to shake up the AC formula. Yet it's still worth checking out, if only to see how simply copying the Witcher 3 blueprint isn't a surefire route to success.
