5The open beta for Skull and Bones has finally set sail, but it seems to have hit some choppy waters. After years of anticipation and delays, Ubisoft’s pirate-themed game leaves me feeling a bit underwhelmed. The game’s core loop feels eerily similar to The Division, with a dash of pirate flair. You’ll spend your initial hours collecting resources, chopping down trees, and crafting items. While the naval combat—reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag—is enjoyable, the game’s safe zones and lackluster on-foot interactions dampen the pirate experience. In the end, Skull and Bones feels like a missed opportunity for swashbuckling adventure.🏴☠️⚓
