To install using UEFI you have to select the usb version of the install media, with .img, -- the dvd .iso only supports legacy BIOS.

I installed the non-free firmware using a fat32 usb stick because i don't have ethernet. if you have cable network, it will be installed automatically during the installation.

later, when creating the text file to configure the wifi, don't enable
up powersave, because it isn't supported by the driver, but maybe this feature
will be added with the newer driver version in the future.
