Opening Day at Home
0The San Diego Padres begin the new season at home on Opening Day, as they face their homestate division rivals from the San Francisco Bay Area, the Giants.
Being members of the same league and division can often create rifts between both the teams and their fans. The San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants are no different. Both teams are part of the National League NL West Division. While the San Francisco Giants are clearly the more successful team, the San Diego Padres, in their comparatively short tenure, have proven to be a competitive match-up.
