^GAME DESCRIPTION^
The year is 2199 and with the overpopulation and ever decreasing supply of available resources on Earth, the future of the Human Race is at risk.
A world coalition project was formed to assess planets which offer a viable alternative home for the Human Race to continue. Probes were sent out to
numerous planets but one planet met all of the requirements to provide a future home for Humanity - this was 'GJ1214b', also known as 'Waterworld' -
or more simply 'Earth 2'.
Technological breakthroughs allowed for an expensive to produce, but sustainable energy source which will allow the coalition to setup the first base
of what would be Humanity's future home - the Energy Gems. Operation Labyrinth was created to be the first manned mission to 'Earth 2', carrying 50
Energy Gems and with the aim of setting up the first base.
A few months before arriving at 'Earth 2' an unknown incident occurred on the Operation Labyrinth vessel and the result was a crash-landing on the
Kepler-413b planet. Mission Control reported that the crash was significant enough to cause severe damage to the vessel but should have allowed for
survivors - however no communication has ever been received from the crew. All Operation Labyrinth crew members are now presumed dead.
The economic impact of the failed mission was significant due to the high cost of producing more Energy Gems. Given that the Energy Gems are stored in
a resilient shell, it is agreed by the coalition that the probably of them remaining intact following the crash is significant enough that a rescue
mission is viable.
As the commander of Operation: Labyrinth Fall, your mission is to travel to Kepler-413b and retrieve the 50 Energy Gems. Be warned, the cause of the
loss of the previous crew is unknown and therefore the planet should be considered extremely dangerous.
