Optimizing Screen Resolution: Fixing Greyed Out Settings on Windows 11 for NVIDIA Users
Method: Update Graphics Drivers for Both GPUs
1- Update NVIDIA Graphics Drivers:🔧
Visit the official NVIDIA website and download the latest drivers for your specific GPU model. Install them, ensuring you select the correct options for your hardware.
2- Update Integrated Graphics Drivers:🔧
Similarly, update the drivers for your integrated graphics (built-in GPU). You can usually find these drivers on the support page of your computer's manufacturer.
3- Configure Graphics Settings in NVIDIA Control Panel:🔧
Right-click on your desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel".
Navigate to "Manage 3D Settings" "Global Settings".
Set the preferred graphics processor to your NVIDIA GPU (if not already selected).
Go to "Program Settings" and select the specific applications where you want to use the NVIDIA GPU.
4- Set Default Graphics Device in BIOS/UEFI:🔧
Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F12, DEL, or ESC during startup).
Look for an option related to graphics settings or a primary display adapter. Make sure it's set to your NVIDIA GPU.
5- Disable Integrated Graphics (if applicable):🔧
In some cases, disabling the integrated graphics in the BIOS/UEFI settings can help resolve conflicts.
6- Restart Your Computer:🔧
After making these changes, restart your computer to apply the settings.
7- Check Screen Resolution Settings:🔧
Go to Settings " System " Display and try adjusting the screen resolution.
