Researchers at the Bio-Materials Innovation Research Centre in Boston, USA have created a digital system that can replicate the reactions of organs. The system promises to speed up the testing of new drugs and see whether an unknown substance could be toxic to humans. By connecting multiple 'digital organs' together the device can more accurately model real reactions in the human body. BBC Click's Dan Simmons spoke to Ali Khademhosseini about how the system could change medical research.
