Story time real quick: I've been a member of a website called Gametabs (https://community.gametabs.net/) for a while now, where people create and upload guitar tabs of music from video games, and even some anime. This was a huge hobby of mine before university started taking up all of my time, so as a result, I've been inactive on the site for over a year now. However, the site was recently completely revamped, and with it one of the events we hosted on it, the Tune Contests, where we create original tunes to fit a given theme. I participated in some of these in the past, and had of lot of fun with them, so during my attempt to become active on the site once again, I'll be competing as much as possible and uploading my entries right here! So stick around, because if we can keep this up like we used to, there'll plenty more to come!
A song I've been wanting to make for a while, and Gametabs revamped Tune Contests gave me all the motivation I needed to make it happen!
As an opening piece, I wanted this one to convey mostly sorrow and hopelessness, with a bit of hope thrown in there, because hey, can't stay down forever, right? The main theme of Xenoblade Chronicles was a huge inspiration for this one (to the point where it may be more obvious than I intended).
