Today, we're unboxing the Ortz Wii U Gamepad Power Adapter. It's a replacement device for charging your Wii U Gamepad. A replacement power adapter for the gamepad is good if you lost or broke your original. But it's also very important because the gamepad is very portable, if you have this you'll be able to use it in another room and keep it fully charged.
It's packed very simple, with just the adapter wrapped in plastic. Nice and slim form factor with one side having the proprietary gamepad connection and the other side standard AC outlet. I'm connecting it to my Wii U Gamepad that is currently drained with no battery left. You can see the battery indicator light up immediately and I've turned it on with no problems. And also keep in mind that my Wii U is actually in another room right now and this adapter let's me charge up my gamepad and play with no problems.
Comparing it to the offficial Nintendo adapter that came with my Wii U, it's almost identical. There's no Nintendo logo and the text information is a little different but they are the same size, shape, and even cable length.
The biggest advantage is that it's a lot more affordable and easier to pickup the Ortz version. It's currently only $10.99 on Amazon which is a super low price. The official adapter would most likely have to be purchased from the official Nintendo store which would likely be $19.99 plus shipping. I can highly recommend the Ortz Wii U Gamepad adapter for anyone who needs a replacement adapter.
