the "tiers" i describe stuff with overlap each other a lot, but i think they still show what i mean. here's short descriptions of each one:
0:35 - new mapper - little understanding of even the basics with influence from only gameplay
2:59 - beginner mapper - advancing through mods and mapper influence
4:24 - proficient mapper - capable of ranking a map while still taking influence from mods, mappers, and players
5:31 - experienced mapper - reached equilibrium with opinions of mappers and players regarding what makes a map acceptable. create the same type of map repeatedly
6:12 - progressive mapper - ignoring opinions of mappers and players for the sake of innovation
