We all know that this game is sort of unfinished and EA doesn't feel like doing anything to fix something in it, rather corrupt.
The patch 1.0.1.18 is meant to fix major bugs this game has since day one, like aliased shadows, dumb AI, etc. But not only doesn't it fix something of it (except dumb AI, it is fixable), but it also brings up other bugs:
- Shadows of cars, sun halo, fog, road reflections and bump mapping - are gone;
- Shadows change their positions,
- Depth of field effect hasn't been brought up since initial version
- Motion blur is broken on 60fps,
- Xbox 360 gamepad is not natively supported (you can't turn on vibration, change deadzone),
- 60hz lockup,
...etc.
In this video I'd like to show the difference between initial version and patched one on 30 and 60 fps respectively.
This video was made in silly attempt to bring the attention of big major modders of Black Box era NFS games like Aero_, xan1242, ThirteenAG, nlgzrgn, to this game to fix it and bring it to 20xx look and feel like it is done with previous titles.
