[OUTDATED] [POST BUFF] CATALYST | 39.2k DPS
248You can definitely push this higher, I just didn’t see the appeal in doing so.. you know what? Fuck it. That first sentence was the original description, but Ima copy something in here due to the confusion going around, and the fact that I never got to defend myself against some of the stuff said abt me. Would have originally liked to post it on reddit, but reddit seems like the last place I wanna interact with rn considering it's kinda on fire due to the patch.
Let me give you the two main reasons as to why this rota is way less dps than the 46k one floating around, I would much appreciate you reading them:
- This is done OUTSIDE the hitbox. The 46k is done INSIDE the hitbox. When I first did the bench after eod, I benched inside hitbox. Many people got mad at me, and honestly I understood it, it's simply questionable to bench inside the hitbox when in reality it can be painful to do that in real fights + on some fights it is not even possible.
- I was actually the first person to find out that it is possible to have way more dps inside hitbox even in this patch, due to being able to collect way more energy from hammer 3s (unfortunately noone gave me credit, which is making this look even more confusing). But I simply didn't want to bench with it. Reason for that is that I didn't want that bench to be the main representative bench of catalyst, as it is situational, while the outside-bench isn't. And now this patch, as you can see, everything went to shit again. Don't get me wrong, inside-hitbox NEEDED a nerf, but as always the more universal bench suffered hard cause of it. Catalyst got nerfed harshly, which makes the inside-hitbox bench still ok, while outside hitbox dps is way worse again. Anet simply has to equalize these two numbers, but unfortunately they never will.
To everyone trying to blame me for "hiding" the bench (just to be clear, there aren't a lot of them, but I felt the need to address it regardless): Please. I am not in charge of the website whatsoever. I didn't demand for the higher bench not to be put (although I have told you my personal concerns as to why I didn't want to bench it). There are people blaming me for that shit even though they could have easily put the 46k bench up there. The person who benched has already been featured on the website before. Alternatively several people could have benched it themselves. And finally, even if I were the only person able to, literally none of the people in the know contacted me about wanting a new bench or anything, so there didn't seem to be any demand by anyone. I stand by the decisions I've made. Everyone (including myself) wanted an outside-hitbox after the big nerf, and some people apperently just forgot about that. That's all there is to this.
