I can't believe 2022 is nearly over! What a crazy year it has been. Roll on 2023 - I have lots of exciting plans for content.

Fans of my channel will know I'm a huge Sega fan & their racing games were sublime. In 2003 they released OutRun 2 in the arcade - the long awaited sequel to Yu Suzuki's Super Scaler smash hit. In 2004 Sumo Digital were tasked with porting it to the original Xbox. They did a stellar job.

While the later OutRun 2 SP was ported to various platforms and included a lot of the content here this remains an Xbox exclusive with some content exclusive to this version including bonus tracks based on other Sega arcade hits - Scud Race/Super GT and Daytona USA 2 - both of which remain sadly unported.

I always wanted SCUD Race - aka Super GT - to be ported to Dreamcast - in fact this was planned and a tech demo is available but sadly it remains unported. There was an arcade machine still in Portsmouth Arcade a few years back though (see the attract mode on my other video). It remains unported sadly.

This version of OutRun 2 contains a set of bonus tracks based on the circuits in SCUD Race - I play through them (very badly) here.

Its a brilliant game and still looks utterly captivating.

This is my original PAL copy from back in the day on my original Xbox via Component Cables at 480p through a Retrotink 5X for ease of capture.
