Playthrough of the SEGA Saturn version, which was released as a stand-alone game in Japan. This game was also released in America and Europe, as part of the SEGA Ages: Vol. 1 collection.

The arcade version of OutRun ran at 30 frames per second. The Saturn port also runs at 30fps, however, there is a cheat that lets you play the game at 60 frames per second, known as "smooth" mode. I've done two playthroughs of the game in this video. The first is at 30fps, and the second is at 60fps.

In addition to the extra frames per second, the Saturn port also features a new arranged soundtrack, and also has a option to play the Japanese and overseas version of the game. The course layout is different between the two in places. I believe that the Saturn version of OutRun is seen as being the best console port of the game.
