I wanted to check to see if that grandiose blog post they made about competitive actually meant anything. Turns out, it's just usual Blizzard making a big deal out of nothing. Here's out it works: You win games, you get points. You lose games, you lose points. None of the 'transparency' means anything because it's literally the same system just with some flashy new modifiers that try to justify how/why you won/lost points when in reality it's the same as it's always been. You win, you gain. You lose, you lose.

What it actually does beyond that is show that they were lying about the last time they changed competitive and that it took player skill into account. If that was true there would be modifiers for final blows and objective time and you know, playing well. Nothing like that exists with this 'transparency' according to the very small list of modifiers represented that are all just examples of winning and losing. So they should've just put in green 'You won!' and then in red 'You lost!' because that's all it is.
