‘Overwatch 2’ players on Xbox are getting disconnected from the game after unlocking achievements.

The sequel to the popular 2016 shooter recently released on October 4 but has faced a number of issues since launch, including suffering a DDoS attack, an auto-purchase bug, missing skins, and more.

Now, the latest issue within the game sees players on Xbox being disconnected and sometimes banned for earning achievements.

On the ‘Overwatch’ subreddit, players have been sharing their experience, stating that whenever the bug happens, they are losing progress, and being marked as quitters, resulting in temporary bans.

One player wrote: “I'm seriously getting tired of waiting 30 minutes to log in, playing three matches, then getting another random Xbox achievement and the game telling me I'm already logged in before sending me back to the login screen.
“I've been enjoying the game, but the fact I'm spending more time doing other stuff waiting to get in [than] actually playing, and then getting kicked out because of a bug is becoming incredibly annoying."

One commenter offered a temporary fix, saying: “Turn Xbox notifications off. Getting an achievement kicks you out of Overwatch” – though this doesn’t seem to solve the problem for all players.

Neither Blizzard nor Xbox have publicly acknowledged the issue yet.
