The oxygen cycle is the process by which oxygen is circulated between the atmosphere, oceans, plants, and animals. It starts with photosynthesis, where plants, algae, and some bacteria convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. This oxygen is released into the atmosphere, where it's breathed in by animals and used for respiration. During respiration, oxygen is converted back into carbon dioxide, which is then released into the atmosphere, starting the cycle again.
