[PAD] Introduction to Skill Transfer / Skill Inheritance
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since my last actual YouTube Vid. A lot has happened... got a new computer which really put up a fuss about editing videos... had to relearn video stuff on Windows and get everything working (I came from Mac), and been really busy with the Twitch Channel!
But finally got stuff up and working and I plan to be updating regularly again!
Without further ado, we finally have Skill Transfer, or as we used to call it -- Skill Inheritance!
The ability to give TWO skills to ONE monster! Sweet, right?
Not without its drawbacks though.
Although ANY monster can receive a second skill,
the monster GIVING the skill has to be
1. From the REM or Collab Machine.
2. In a form that is at least 5-Star Rarity.
3. Max Level.
and
4. Fully Awakened.
On top of that, as long as the skill is transferred to another monster, the original monster cannot be used in any teams.
The monster is still in your box, and it can still be skilled up, but you can't play with it.
Skill Transfer can be undone at any time, so you can always get your monster back -- the materials spent to do the transfer are not refunded though.
Skill Transfer costs 4 Tans (Either 4 of one color, or 2 of one and 2 of another) and 2 Million Coins.
Once you transfer a skill to a monster, that monster keeps its original skill and then has the new skill on TOP of its original.
So if your original monster was Awoken Horus with a cooldown of 4 and you added L.Kali with a cooldown of 7, then the Kali skill on that Horus would be 4 + 7 = 11.
During a dungeon, you don't get to select which skill to use. You simply tell the monster to use its skill. What skill it uses is dependent on where its cooldown is at.
If we take the above example, after 4 turns, the Horus will have his skill available. If he uses it, his cooldown goes back to 0. If you keep waiting after the first 4 turns, you can still use Horus' skill for the next 6 turns. On the 7th turn after that (11th Turn total), the skill will switch to Kali and you'll lose access to Horus' skill. It will stay on Kali's skill until you use it and then it will reset the cooldown back to 0.
*NOTE* with this above scenario, if your team had 11 Skill Boosts, your Horus would BEGIN the dungeon with Kali's skill available and no access to his own skill until you use the skill.
Transfer also provides a buffer against Skill Delay, being that you can technically "overcharge" your skills. Transferring the same skill onto itself ensures you'll always have access to that skill (unless facing Dick Kagu's 99 turn Skill Delay.)
There are so many options for Skill Transfer, and low cooldowns end up being prime targets for Skill Transfer.
For optional/situational skills, long cooldowns can be better to ensure you don't accidentally lose access to your original skill. This way you can intentionally charge to the other skill when you need it.
There are so many options and all the uses for Skill Transfer are still being explored. Be it to bring a shield or a bind clear or a delay on a team, helpful board changes, refreshes, bursts, etc.
Feel free to experiment! Comment with some of your favorite combinations below! I'd love to hear what you guys are working on!
