Painting TAU XV109 Y’Vahra 3D Model | Tutorial by Gambody
It’s pretty animated in our painting workshop. Since Gambody launched its online workshop for painting 3D printed figurines, 2 popular 3D designs from the marketplace had already been featured:

Last week was about painting a robot battlesuit. Everyone who has ever played Warhammer 40k knows about it.
The STL file of the 3D model was created in Maya 3D modeling program and checked in Netfabb.
TAU XV109 Y’Vahra 3D Model was first printed on Gambody’s in-house Ultimaker2 3D printer in ABS material. The file printed accurately and clean, without defects and errors.
After having removed the support material, the model was displayed next to other 3D printed models in the office. It stood on the shelf for a couple of months until last week, when the time came to be painted.
TAU XV109 Y’Vahra 3D Model was first base coated with white primer and left to dry for a night. 4 coats of white primer were applied to mask the model’s printing material color.
Further on, the painting began. The 3D model features different hues of red color and black.
Special painting techniques were used to give it a worn out, rusty appearance.
