When I say this camcorder sucks, it REALLY sucks.. This is in the same conditions as the other tests I've done in the past week or so on this channel. No idea what Panasonic's problem is. It's not the age of the camcorder (Every consumer camcorder past 2012 does better than this) it's not the price range (Every consumer camcorder past 2012 costing a quarter (300 bucks) of this, $1200 does better), I can only assume that this is meant to be specifically and painstakingly tuned to whatever scene you are in, and even then it can only get so much better than this. Absolute trash. If you or someone you know got this thing looking reasonable, they are magic.
Only redeeming qualities are that the battery is 43Whr, most that I've seen are under 15, and the camera records 24bit PCM audio and the mics are pretty good.
Note: This is all regarding OUR (fairly mundane) use cases.
