Panasonic has just released the latest in their eight-year series of “bridge cameras” -- the Lumix FZ1000. It’s as easy to use as a point-and-shoot but the size of a small DSLR because of its 16x zoom.
Who’s this camera for, asks Frederick? For almost anyone, answers Doug. The image quality is good and the image stabilization is terrific. Combined with fast autofocus, 4k video (from which you can extract 8MP stills) and that 16x zoom and you have a camera that can be used for a wide range of tasks.
