Panelists Leah Chase, Raphael Cassimere, PhD, and Norman Francis, PhD, recount their experiences during the Civil Rights Movement through the lens of African Americans who fought for Double Victory during World War II. These Citizen Soldiers would be treated as second class citizens in war just as they had been treated as second class citizens in peacetime— yet they served with pride, honor and distinction.

This panel, which originally aired Feb 25, 2016, was presented in partnership with Dr. Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute, The Black Professional, Martinet Society, Urban League of Greater New Orleans Young Professionals.
